www.oursafesite.com is a unique child protection information website developed by the charity Safeguarding Children Partnership for children & young people aged 5-13 years, their parents, carers, group leaders and teachers for when they attend voluntary, youth and community activities. The focus is upon safeguarding and protecting children and young people and leisure activities with regards to achievement & enjoyment, health & well being and protection.
There are links to relevant sites e.g. NSPCC, groups with SAFE (Safer Activities for Everyone) certificates, diaries of groups activities and events from district councils, youth and voluntary groups; advice about safety, competitions, health information, teaching resources and games.
There is also news and views about child protection, SAFE as an umbrella group for CRB checks, recruitment, training, SAFE and churches, the leisure industry, sports, music, arts, libraries and museum groups.
SAFE (Safer Activities for Everyone) is the branding of the child protection charity Safeguarding Children Partnership working with the leisure sector to prevent child abuse and safeguarding children and young people. The charity is endorsed by the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit, the Children’s Fund, Sports for All, EEDA , Lloyds TSB, and Awards for All.
SAFE has been developed by the Safeguarding Children Partnership with Suffolk and Norfolk Area Child Protection Committees and has the backing of Suffolk and Norfolk Children's Funds. SAFE is recognised by the N.S.P.C.C. and its Child Protection in Sport Unit.
